Love it

From an ethical point of view, this bow of course deserves 5/5 points!
I have used the Coruss bow for exactly 2 years. I play ca. 4-5h per week. About 3 months ago, the bow developed an irritating side noise that I could not remove whatever I tried. Also, it was chronically sticky and dirty in places. So, I ordered new Coruss hair. Since the new hair, the noise is gone.
Some of my experiences:
- I found the volume of my sound a bit weaker after switching to Coruss. I could barely hear myself in the orchestra. Over time, with constant use of the bow and new strings (at the moment I use Evah Pirazzi Neo which are fantastic with this bow), I felt I could absolutely keep up with the others in my orchestra again (who use horse hair bows)
- I never lost even one hair on my bow!
- It was hard finding a luthier that was open to change the Coruss hair. I got several rejections from local luthiers (who would only work with horse haur), so had to travel a bit further away.
All in all, as a passionate amateur player I am very happy with Coruss and would (for ethical reasons) never go back to horse hair. For my viola I have a green Coruss bow and just love the colour!

Strongbow

A bow that makes the most of modern materials in traditional forms. First impression once rosined is that it produces a very powerful sound bringing the most from the instrument. It is responsive and gives good tactile feedback to the right hand. A delight! Friends have commented favourably on the quality of the tone it produces. It has encouraged me to try coruss synthetics hair on one of my best bows when it next needs a re-hair.

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to know that you love our carbon bow and even want to try rehairing one of your best bows with our bowhair!
It took us years to design a bow that can produce a powerful sound, that's highly resistant and stable, so it's a pleasure to read that you love its features!

We wish you beautiful performances with your Coruss bow,

Update Review Coruss Violin Bow

As reviewed earlier, the first Coruss bow I received would not allow me to tighten the bow hair properly, I emailed Coruss and after exchanging information Coruss sent me a replacement bow (free of charge), and it works as expected. The screw is still tight and a bit hard to turn, but it gets the job done.

The bow produces a clean, sharp knife edge sound compared to my wooden bow. I like all things carbon fiber--i like appearance of the black CF stick and red hair. In regard to playing, it is light and well balanced. I lent it to a professional, and they were not as pleased with it, basically gave it two strokes and handed it back. It is not as forgiving as my conventional bow, but I carry both in my case. Just in case. Thanks again to Coruss for kindly and quickly resolving the issue I had with the first bow.

Hello Jack! Thank you for your feedback!

We're very sorry you had a problem with your first bow. We're glad to know that our bow suits you! 😊

We wish you wonderful playing moments!
