Coruss Carbon Bow for Violin
Playable, light and responsive. Although the first bow strokes I did, a hair broke… wasn’t supposed to… but other than that, satisfied.
We're sorry to hear about the broken hair in your initial experience. That's not supposed to happen, and we apologize for the inconvenience. If it affects the bow's quality, we're happy to arrange an exchange for you. Thank you for letting us know.

This bow has been a very pleasant surprise! I had never played with a carbon fiber bow before, but I was attracted to it for its ruggedness and weather-resistant qualities and because it is vegan. Coruss delivered above my expectations! Though it’s a little heavier than my much more expensive wooden bow, I love playing with it. This was also my first experience with synthetic bow hair. I found that the quality and the amount of rosin is key to extracting a beautiful tone from this bow hair. When I took mine out of the box, I first applied a very light coat of Coruss rosin. The tone sounded weak, so I then applied a very generous coat of Coruss rosin. With the very heavy rosin coat, the tone developed a harsh quality. Then I wiped some of that rosin off (but not all of it!) and further seasoned the bow hair with my usual two rosins (one dark, one light). I believe that this well-rounded base coat of rosins made a big difference. The tone is now very clear and beautiful, and for maintenance I just rosin it the same way as I do with my regular bow. Overall I’m thrilled with this bow, and I have just placed a second order for a hank of Coruss synthetic hair to put on my other bow. I love the colors and I am thrilled to have such a great vegan option for my music!
Thank you for sharing your positive experience! Delighted to hear our bow met your expectations. We appreciate your support !
