About the product
The Coruss Carbon Double Bass Bow focuses on stability, projection, and control. Its carbon stick offers a precise, reliable feel, while Coruss hair provides a secure grip and exceptional longevity, remaining stable in changing conditions and lasting several times longer than horsehair.
Why choose a carbon fiber double bass bow?
A wooden bow can evolve as its tone and balance change with humidity, temperature, and use. A carbon fiber bow remains consistent. Its response, balance, and tone stay stable for years, while Coruss hair keeps the same reliable grip in every environment.

So far I am very happy with both the carbon fiber French bow and the synthetic hair. The bow balances nicely, 'bounces' with a wide sweet spot, transmits vibrations and proprioceptive info to the fingertips very nicely. I don't like the harder edge where my thumb touches the frog during heavy playing. The hair does lose the rosin quicker than horsehair - - but after 2 weeks, its lasting longer and I made it thru a concert with 7 strokes on the rosin cake, a softer rosin does better than cello or a finishing rosin. I get nice articulations, perhaps a hint brighter tone but can make it darker with slower lighter bowing.
Thank you Lee for your feedback!
We’re very happy that you love the bow’s balance, feel, and the Coruss hair. Your note about the frog’s edge is helpful, and regarding rosin application, we’ve created a small guide with tips on the best way to apply it: though it seems you’ve already mastered it! 😁
Enjoy your playing, and thanks again for sharing your experience!
The Coruss Team
Bass bow works wonderfully with my Ibanez EUB, feels mobile on the strings and takes the rosin well.
Unfortunately mine came with a minor, hopefully cosmetic? manufacturing fault (the plastic coating on the metal winding is twisted, and there is what is probably rusting under it). Coruss have not responded to several emails over a few weeks, so I'm very disappointed by the service level and will be investigating which is the correct EU body to raise a complaint with.
Avi,
Apologies for the inconvenience you faced. We're so sorry for not receiving your previous emails. You can send it back to lucas@coruss.fr.
Regarding the bass bow issue, it's actually oxidation due to the silver-plated copper. While it shouldn't impact performance of our bow, we understand your disappointment. We're keen on setting things right. If you need, you can send the bow back. We'll inspect and repair it pronto.
Your satisfaction is our priority, and we're committed to making this a positive experience for you.
- Coruss Team
